Chris Gibson
Head Professional
Chris Gibson is a full Vocational member of the PGA of Australia, holding an Advanced Status in Coaching as well as a Level 2 Certified AimPoint Instructor. In 2015, Chris was awarded Queensland PGA Teaching Professional of the Year.
Chris has been a golf professional for over a decade and is currently the Head Professional at Royal Queensland Golf Club. Over the years Chris has refined his coaching abilities through playing competitively on the Australasian Tour and establishing himself as a highly sought after Coach in South-East Queensland.
Chris is a progressive Professional who engages in professional development regularly in order to remain competitive within the professional golf coaching market. His use of technology such as Trackman, K Vest, Swing Catalyst and high speed cameras add to his wide repertoire of coaching techniques and skills. Chris' coaching philosophy is focused on simplicity and longevity in the game, which enables him to coach players of all skill levels.

Many of Chris' students have experienced success at Club, State, National and Tour levels. Chris coaches many players on the Australian and International Tours such as Kevin Lee (Asia, One Asia and Australasian Tours), Kirsty Hodgkins, (University of Colorado Ladies Team) Maverick Antcliff (China Golf Tour). He is also seeing success with his junior students such as Jed Morgan who recently won the Singapore Junior Open and was Captain of the Queensland Boys Team. In 2015 and 2016 he was appointed as a Coach at the Kelvin Grove Queensland Golf School of Excellence and has been integral in the success of the students during this time.
Outside of his coaching responsibilities at Royal Queensland, Chris is actively involved in the golf community. Chris assists Queensland University of Technology Biomechanics Staff and PHD students with current research projects, co-author's articles published in Golf WRX which is one of the largest online golf forums, is on the panel for Golf Queensland and coaches the Queensland Boys Team and as well as frequently traveling to regional areas of Queensland to provide assistance at development clinics.
Dave Simpson

Dave is a certified Member of the Australian PGA Advanced in both coaching and game development. Dave played both the Australian and Asian Tours until 2007 when he turned his focus to coaching. Dave completed his Traineeship in 2001 and passed with Distinction an Excellence in Education Award.
Dave has been fortunate enough to learn from and work with some of the leading coaches around the world such as David Leadbetter, Pete Cowen, and Mac O'Grady.
In recent years Dave, has coached the 2015 Queensland Trainee of the Year, Australian Champion and players of all abilities. He was a keynote speaker for the Trainee Intensive Schools and was on the PGA Steering Committee for Coaching. Most recently, Dave has studied under the #2 ranked Golf Digest coach Mike Adams using the revolutionary Bio Swing Dynamics coaching system which has seen great results.

Clinton Lourens

Clinton has been a full vocational Member of the PGA of Australia since 2012. Clinton began his teaching career at Victoria Park golf complex and was fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the state’s finest coaches. Teaching people of all ages and different skill sets, Clinton fine tuned his coaching skills drawing knowledge from his peers and incorporating modern technology including Trackman, force plates and high-speed camera capture software.
Prior to commencing a career in teaching, Clinton completed his traineeship and finished in the top 10 national playing averages earning him a spot on the PGA Australasian Tour. Playing on the tour for two years helped Clinton understand the game in a different light, and pressure from a different perspective.
Having had these experiences and appreciating how overwhelming golf can be, Clinton’s coaching philosophy is to create a relaxed and calm environment to keep the learning experience a fun discovery. Clinton has joined the Royal Queensland Golf Club coaching team in 2021 and is looking forward to helping you better your golf game.
